mobile text message Reasons To Get Into Text Message Advertising

Have you been looking for the latest and greatest marketing techniques? Whether you’re looking for ways to market your own business or are looking for ways to promote a client’s business, text message advertising is the hot new trend. The following are reasons why you may want to get in on the craze:

More and More People are Using Mobile Phones

Blackberries, Droids, iPhones… the mobile phone is taking over the communications world! Many people don’t even use a landline anymore, but instead use their mobile phone as their primary communication device. People are using mobile phones to do everything from look up information on subjects, find restaurants when hungry, locate stores that offer the products and services they need, or to get directions. With so many people using their phones as their forms of entertainment, means of locating things they need, and method of communication, it only makes sense to market to this means of communication.

Text Messaging is Replacing Email

You know that email marketing came on strong a decade ago, but no people are flooded with emails from businesses. The mobile phone market is still relatively open, so you can be on the cutting edge if you start marketing through text messages. Because there are so few people advertising through text messages right now, you can be sure your ads will get attention, where as most people have spam screens on their email accounts now. You’ll get through to the real person instead of ending up in a junk folder.

Text Messaging Brings More Instantaneous Results

Studies show people open text messages (on average) within one-to-two hours of receiving them, and with the cell phone being such a versatile tool these days, those same people can act on your ad immediately, even if they are on the go. They can actually find your restaurant, order off your website, or contact you for more information – instantly.

This is a fabulous to influence traffic. Let’s say you own a restaurant, and you don’t have any business on a Tuesday night. You can just send text messages to your patrons, inviting them to take advantage of half-off drinks. Or let’s say business has been slow lately. You can invent a promotion and get the message out to patrons (and you know, those who have bought from you previously are most likely to buy from you again) immediately.

Text Message Advertising

If you want to get on this trend, investigate text message advertising software or hire a company that specializing in text message campaigns. You’ll find this to be a cost-effective way to get your message out!

I do a blog, and have a fe hundred subscribers to e-mail notifications when I post a new entry. Of those subscribers, I *also* know perhaps a quarter or a third personally well enough to have their telephone numbers — yet I’m hesitant to send them text notifications unless they specifically request it, and I can handle only so many individual requests.

I’d like to figure out a way around this; perhaps I’m seeing a barrier where none exists?
